living by the sea: our basement

One last post in the tour of our home! This post covers the entire basement. To the right of the staircase is the guest room (with a walk-in closet) and a bathroom. Yes, it's carpeted - ewwww!

Down the hall is my very large laundry room! If it had a window, I would be happier, but even without it, I love my laundry room! I have my pantry and deep freezer in this room; there's plenty of space for sorting laundry and my washing machine & dryer are faithful workhorses. It might not look like much, but it's a very functional room.

At the end of the hall are a set of saloon doors which open into the den. Rumor has it (we have neighbours who knew both of the previous owners) that this room used to be used as a bar! The jury is still out about whether we'll use this as a play room or a man cave. Right now, it's full of random boxes and things that don't have a home quite yet. It's really easy to forget about the mess because I have to purposefully go into this room, so it may stay this way for a while!

We haven't used the wood stove yet, so I really hope that it actually works! It would be nice to have it as a back up source in case the power goes out.

Well, that's our house! We're working hard to make it our home and it's so fun!
