20 weeks: a pregnancy update
It's half over already, this first pregnancy experience of mine. The last four months (since we found out) have both flown by and dragged on at the same time.
I'm finally over my morning sickness. I say that, but I still have a touch of nausea each day -- just a touch though, so in my mind, it's over!
We've been feeling the baby kick for a few weeks now. It's getting stronger and more frequent as the days pass. It is incredible to feel those little nudges become definite kicks and jabs! Being able to share it with my husband makes it even more incredible.
Last Thursday we had our 20 week ultrasound. Shayne was able to watch the monitor the entire time and all I could see was his face reacting to it. I'm cherishing the memory of my husband sitting in the ultrasound room, beaming from ear to ear as he watched our child wiggle around and even "wave" at one point! When the tech finished taking pictures, she showed the screen to both of us. We got to see the brain developing, and watch as the four chambers of the heart pumped blood through our child's little body! I have no words for how amazing this experience was...just this: "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!"
We aren't finding out the gender. Hearing "it's a ____ " will be my reward for the events immediately preceding the announcement. ;)
I'll leave you with one glimpse of our little one - we think he or she has my nose! What do you think?
