our staycation: part 2

As my parents headed home to Ontario, Shayne's family had just begun cottaging for a week. The cottage overlooked the Stanley River and although dubbed a "cottage" was more like "someone's house which happens to be on a river" because it truly was where the owners lived for many years. Everything you could possibly need was supplied, and the place was filled with antiques. We were able to go out and visit several times, and Shayne even managed to take a day off work to spend with his family.
Two weeks of staycation allowed me to enjoy some beautiful parts of my Island. It makes me even more excited for a month from now when Shayne & I hop on a plane and take off to HOLLAND! Yay for vacation!

our staycation: part 1

Wow, is it really August 6 already? My short little break for some R&R turned into complete radio silence, but I promise I'm still here. Dad & Mom's visit flew by, but thankfully I had my camera along to capture the memories. We had a great visit and I'm looking forward to getting to see them again at Christmas! (DV)

We stayed in a cottage on the North Shore of PEI near Stanhope, within walking distance to the beach. One day we stopped at Dalvay by the Sea, better known around our household as the White Sands Hotel (any avid Road to Avonlea fans will know what I mean!) :-)

All too quickly it was over, and they had hit the road. I'm thankful for the time we were able to spend together!
